Zanella Racing Welcomes New Talent and Battles Hard at Road America

Road America always delivers drama, and the July 24–26 weekend was no exception. For Zanella Racing, the event was about more than just results — it was about growth, resilience, and welcoming a new face to the team. With Leonardo Escorpioni, Ty Fisher, Diego Guiot, Maddie Colleran, and new driver Rahim Alibhai on track, the team continued to show depth and determination in the USF Juniors championship.

Qualifying – Fisher Leads the Team, Alibhai Impresses on Debut

Qualifying set the grid for the weekend’s three races, with Ty Fisher leading the Zanella charge in P7. Just behind him, new recruit Rahim Alibhai impressed in his first outing with the team, securing a solid P12.

Maddie Colleran and Diego Guiot lined up together in the midfield, in P13 and P18 respectively, while Leonardo Escorpioni, usually a front-runner, had to settle for P17 after a difficult session — setting the stage for a comeback drive.

Race 1 – Fighting Through the Field

Race 1 saw all five drivers locked in battles across the field. Fisher fought to hold his ground in the top 10, while Escorpioni began his climb from the back, showing patience and racecraft. Alibhai adapted quickly in his first USF Juniors start, running consistent laps and keeping pace with more experienced competitors.

Guiot and Colleran both found themselves in close midfield fights, gaining valuable experience on Road America’s long straights and heavy braking zones.

Race 2 – Escorpioni Charges Forward

The second race of the weekend highlighted Escorpioni’s resilience. Starting deep in the pack again, he fought his way forward with a determined drive, clawing back positions and proving why he’s been a contender all season long.

Fisher maintained his steady form inside the top half of the field, while Alibhai continued to impress in just his second race, showing composure under pressure. Guiot and Colleran both managed to improve on their Race 1 performances, demonstrating progress and consistency.

Race 3 – Team Effort Across the Board

The final race at Road America brought out the best of Zanella Racing’s team spirit. Escorpioni once again battled hard through the pack, salvaging a strong result from a challenging qualifying. Fisher fought door-to-door in the competitive top 10, while Guiot and Colleran continued to log crucial race mileage and clean finishes.

Alibhai capped off his debut weekend with another steady performance, giving the team a clear sign of his potential for the rest of the season.

A Weekend of Growth and Promise

While podiums weren’t in reach this time, the Road America weekend was a story of development and resilience for Zanella Racing. Escorpioni showcased his fighting spirit, Fisher delivered consistency, Guiot and Colleran gained more confidence and experience, and Alibhai made a strong debut that left the team optimistic about his future.

For Team Principal Jose Zanella, the big takeaway is clear: with five drivers pushing forward together, Zanella Racing is not just competing — it’s building the next wave of champions.
