Mid-Ohio Momentum: Zanella Racing Shines at USF Juniors

The summer heat was on full display at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (June 6–8), and so was Zanella Racing. With four drivers on the grid, the Orlando-based development team showcased its depth, determination, and winning spirit across qualifying and two intense races.

Qualifying — Fisher on Pole, Escorpioni Close Behind

The weekend kicked off with a statement. Ty Fisher put in a blistering lap to capture pole position, showing once again why he’s one of the fastest young drivers in the paddock. Just behind him, teammate Leonardo Escorpioni locked in P2, setting up a Zanella Racing 1–2 at the sharp end of the grid.

Diego Guiot and Maddie Colleran also fought hard in qualifying, securing P11 and P21 respectively. Both drivers continued to gain valuable experience, demonstrating the team’s commitment to developing talent at every level.

Race 1 — Escorpioni Stands on the Podium

When the lights went out for Race 1, Escorpioni wasted no time proving his podium potential. Fighting through the field, he delivered a commanding drive to finish third, marking another critical step in his championship campaign.

Fisher, after starting on pole, battled fiercely in the front group and ultimately crossed the line in fourth, narrowly missing a double-podium finish for the team. Guiot brought home P11, adding more points to the team tally, while Colleran wrapped up the race in P21, continuing to build consistency behind the wheel.

Race 2 — Team Spirit on Display

Race 2 delivered more drama, and while it wasn’t without its challenges, Zanella Racing once again proved its resilience. Escorpioni continued his title fight with a strong showing, Fisher flashed speed and determination, and Guiot and Colleran logged more valuable laps in one of the most technical tracks on the calendar. Every result counted — not just for individual success, but for the team’s ultimate goal.

A Championship Team

By the end of the weekend, Zanella Racing’s collective effort was undeniable. The combination of Escorpioni’s podium, Fisher’s pole position, Guiot’s consistency, and Colleran’s determination helped secure the 2025 USF Juniors Team Championship.

For Team Principal Jose Zanella, this result was the culmination of years of dedication to driver development. From Kid Karts to the Road to Indy, the program continues to prove itself as one of the strongest platforms for young racers with big dreams.

What’s Next

With the Mid-Ohio weekend in the books, Zanella Racing now turns its attention to Portland. Confidence is high, momentum is building, and the team is united in its mission: developing champions, on and off the track.
